Cloud-Based Analytics for Small Businesses

As we progress in a fast-moving world of business, we must accept the fact that the amount of data is greatly increasing each day. It varies from type to type of data in terms of what it is, what it is used for, is it statistical or informative and could be overwhelming when presented with just raw data. Analytics allows for these types of data to be transformed into simple to understand numbers, graphs and charts to allow for quick and simple understanding of what is happening within the business in terms of sales, stock or other.

For the purposes of this topic, I will only focus on the cloud-based analytics. The foundations for it are simple, the infrastructure is already existing somewhere in the world. By buying a license we are simply renting the physical infrastructure. With the purchase of a license, the business normally gets many more benefits included in the package such as online technical support, updates, error and bug patches.

For a small business, this is the only feasible way to acquire processing of big data, as it is much cheaper than any other options, and the business that you would buy the license from would have years of experience in dealing with the industry. Such systems give an incredible advantage to the businesses using it as they can make effective decisions and increase their competitive advantage. Cloud analytics are usually associated with Artificial Intelligence (AI), therefore when it comes to pure calculations and data, AI has an advantage of being able to generate results with the use of data at incredible speed.

What are your thoughts on cloud-based analytics, have you used it and what are your insights?
